Peninsula Woman ID'd in Deadly Austin Shooting

One person died-- a Peninsula woman on vacation-- and 4 others were injured in an Austin, Texas shooting over the weekend, police report.

A 30-year-old San Carlos woman who was visiting Austin, Texas, died early Sunday morning after a man allegedly shot at a group of people in the city's downtown area, police say.

Teqnika Moultrie was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting, which occurred around 2:15 a.m. in the 200 block of East Sixth Street, according to the Austin Police Department.

The shooting injured four other people. Three of the surviving victims were taken to a hospital, while the fourth victim was treated at the scene.

Moultrie, a San Carlos resident, worked as a bus driver for the Sequoia Union High School District in Redwood City, according to the district's website.

Although police have not made an arrest in the shooting, they have identified the suspect as 24-year-old Endicott McCray. McCray, who police believe is armed, is described as being 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds and has long cornrow hair and a goatee.

24-year-old Endicott McCray has been identified as a person of interest in the case.
