REDWOOD CITY, CA — With this year's San Francisco 49ers just one win away from the Super Bowl, the owner of a Redwood City restaurant is looking back at a deal he made with the team back in 1981 — which cost him more than he'd anticipated.

Tim Harrison, owner of the Canyon Inn Restaurant, told KRON4 that he'd offered the team free meals after every victory, if in exchange they'd hold a rally at the Canyon Inn.

Harrison considered this a modest risk, since the team hadn't had much luck in those years. But then, in '81, the 49ers won 13 games and eventually the Super Bowl— forcing Harrison to dole out lots of free dinners.
