SamTrans Now Selling Eligible Discount Bus Tickets
Beginning Tuesday, May 15, SamTrans will sell paper tickets just for riders in the Eligible Discount fare category.

From SamsTrans: Beginning Tuesday, May 15, SamTrans will sell paper tickets just for riders in the Eligible Discount fare category. These tickets, sold at a discount in packages of ten for $10, can be used by customers who are 65 or older, or possess a Medicare card or current Disabled Person Placard Identification card issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Paper tickets eliminate the need for exact change and do not have an expiration date. Each of these bright green tickets are good for one-ride and must be placed into the farebox upon boarding. Tickets can be used on all regular SamTrans bus routes and carry a local-ride value. They cannot be used to purchase day passes.
Anyone can purchase paper tickets, but the bus operator may ask for proof-of-eligibility when using one. These new tickets for Eligible Discount riders were approved for use and sale by the SamTrans Board of Directors in November 2015.
