San Mateo Co. Program To Provide Civics 101 On Local Government
Topics include run downs of the county's human services agency, sheriff's office and justice system.
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — San Mateo County is offering a free, nine-week program to help residents learn about the workings of county government.
The Civics 101 Academy, which runs weekly from Aug. 31 to Oct. 26, will feature presentations from department heads. Topics include run downs of the county’s human services agency, sheriff’s office and justice system. The final session, a “graduation,” will be a dinner featuring Board of Supervisors President David Canepa.
The sessions will be held on Tuesday evenings at the County Government Center in Redwood City from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
