SMC Jail Inmate’s Death Under Investigation
The preliminary investigation indicates a possible suicide, the sheriff's office said.
REDWOOD CITY, CA – Authorities are investigating the death of a San Mateo man who died in custody Tuesday afternoon at the Maguire Correctional Facility, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said.
The man was identified as Julio Boch-Curup, 21 of San Mateo, The Mercury News reports.
Boch-Curup was found unresponsive during a housing pod security check shortly after 2 p.m.

He received medical treatment, including CPR, but was pronounced dead at the scene.
