Sequoia Hospital, Birth Center Named Among ‘Best of the Best’

Sequoia Hospital's award-winning Birth Center offers an array of services and comforts, including all-private rooms and much more.

From Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital: Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital has been voted a Best Birth Center for the ninth consecutive year by readers of Bay Area Parent magazine in its ‘Best of the Best’ annual survey. Sequoia also was voted a ‘Best Hospital’ by the magazine’s readers.

“At Sequoia, we strive to provide a birthing experience that is truly unique—all the advanced care of a leading medical facility within a welcoming and comfortable community hospital setting,” said Sequoia Hospital President Bill Graham. “To be recognized nine years in a row by Bay Area parents is an honor, and also speaks to our commitment to providing the best possible care during this very special experience.”

Sequoia Hospital’s award-winning Birth Center offers an array of services and comforts, including all-private rooms each with a full en suite bathroom, 24-hour anesthesiologist and OB physician coverage, an on-site Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and breastfeeding support from our International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) nurses during the hospital stay and through the crucial early weeks after birth. Each room is bright and beautifully decorated, and features a relaxing rocking chair and bassinet.

“Though our families know they will receive the most advanced prenatal and neonatal technology available in our Birth Center, it’s the attentive and personalized care we give that really makes an impression,” said Jennifer Doran, RN, BSN, Birth Center nurse manager for Sequoia Hospital. “We treat each patient and their loved ones as if they were our family, friends, and neighbors and, as a local community hospital, many of them are. Our care with genuine humankindness sets us apart.”

The results of this year’s survey, based on readers’ experiences during 2017, were announced in the magazine’s annual ‘Best of the Best’ issue. Bay Area Parent magazine has been providing information and resources to families in the Bay Area for more than 30 years. The awards are based on voting by approximately 15,000 readers, who cast their votes online for the “best family-friendly businesses and services.”
