Teen Shoots Another Teen In Redwood City, Police Say

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A teenager has been arrested in connection to an early morning Redwood City shooting, police say. The suspect is just 16 years old.
According to police, the shooting was reported around 1:45 a.m. in the 3500 block of Hoover Street, near Highway 101. The teen is the only suspect in custody at this point.
"We currently have one suspect in custody and are still investigating to determine whether there are additional suspects," Lt. John Gunderson said.

Gunderson tells Patch that the circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation, but police don't believe this was a random attack.
"We know it's not gang related and it appears that the victim and suspect knew each other and there doesn't appear to be any danger to the general public," he told Patch.

The suspect was not identified due to his age and the ongoing investigation.
The victim, who is 18 years old, suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to the lieutenant. As of Thursday afternoon, he remained hospitalized in critical, but stable, condition.
A firearm has been recovered by investigators, he said.
