2 Oakland Police Officers Hospitalized

A pair of alleged armed robbers ran a stop sign and hit a patrol car, police say.

OAKLAND, CA — Two Oakland police officers were hospitalized after a vehicle allegedly linked to multiple armed robberies collided with a patrol car early this morning, police said.

Officers tried to pull over the vehicle around 1:30 a.m. but the driver did not yield and a pursuit ensued, according to police.

Several minutes later, the suspect did not stop at a stop sign at Ninth Avenue and East 12th Street, colliding with a marked patrol car, police said.

The two officers were taken to a hospital and are in stable condition this morning.

The driver and passenger of the suspect vehicle were arrested and were also taken to the hospital in stable condition. Their names were not immediately released by police.

Officers investigating the suspect vehicle found a loaded firearm inside it, police said.
