
OAKLAND, CA - Two people were wounded by gunfire in Oakland on Tuesday, according to police.
A man drove himself to San Leandro after he was shot somewhere in East Oakland at 10:13 a.m., police said. He was taken to a hospital in stable condition. Exactly where the shooting happened wasn't clear from information provided by Oakland police.
Police spokesman Officer Marco Marquez first provided cross-streets for the shooting at 89th Avenue and Lyndhurst Street, which do not intersect. Asked to clarify, Officer Johnna Watson said the shooting happened at 89th and Bancroft avenues, two miles from Lyndhurst Street.

She did not respond to requests for further clarification. Later that day, at 4:48 p.m., police responded to gunfire in the 4300 block of Market Street in the city's Longfellow neighborhood. A man was suffering a gunshot wound but it wasn't serious and he declined medical attention.
Three homes and a car in the area were also struck by gunfire. Police provided no information about suspects or possible motive for the shooting.
