BART Police Arrest Suspect For Alleged Battery Of Passenger
The incident happened at Oakland's MacArthur station.

OAKLAND, CA —BART police arrested a man suspected of battery on a train passenger and resisting arrest at Oakland's MacArthur station Saturday night, according to BART officials.
At about 8 p.m., BART officers approached a man who was looking around for his cellphone on one of the station's platforms. Another passenger directed them to a man who allegedly had slapped the phone from the man's hand, according to BART officials.
When the officers were trying to detain the suspect, he allegedly threw what they suspected was marijuana onto a nearby escalator. The officers grabbed the man by the arms and he resisted their attempts to put him into handcuffs, BART officials said.

The suspect was eventually restrained and arrested on suspicion of battery and resisting arrest.
