Boy Killed In Oakland Shooting

OAKLAND, CA -- A Vallejo boy was killed and a Hayward man was injured in a shooting early this morning in downtown Oakland, police said. Police responded about 12:10 a.m. to the incident in the 1400 block of Franklin Street.

Emergency crews were called and both victims were taken to a hospital, but the boy succumbed to his injuries, police said. His name was not released, pending notification of next of kin.

The man was listed in stable condition.

Police did not provide a motive for the shooting, which is under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call Oakland Police homicide investigators at (510) 238-3821.
