Historic Downtown Petaluma

Celebrate “America’s Birthday – Petaluma Style” at one of Sonoma County’s most beloved small-town traditions.
Plan a spring getaway to historic Downtown Petaluma and experience a vibrant day filled with the iconic 43rd Butter &amp; Egg Days Parade &amp; Festival. The day kicks off with the Cow Chip Tossing Competition, The Cutest Little Chick Contest, and the Clover Kids’ Parade, followed by live music, delicious food vendors, local crafts, beverage gardens, and family fun throughout the day.&nbsp;
This year’s theme celebrates the country’s 250th Birthday and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Petaluma loves to celebrate, and the Butter &amp; Egg Days Parade fills the town with small-town pride while honoring Petaluma’s deep agricultural roots and welcoming community spirit. The parade pays tribute to the farmers, families, immigrants, makers, entrepreneurs, and creatives whose hard work and imagination reflect the enduring American Dream. It also recognizes the Indigenous peoples who first stewarded this land and the dairy and egg farming community that helped shape Petaluma into the vibrant town it is today.
On Saturday, April 18, the Butter &amp; Egg Days Parade steps off at Noon, marching through Petaluma’s charming Victorian-era downtown. The parade features over 130 units, nearly 3,000 participants, and more than 200 volunteers, creating a lively celebration of community pride and creativity.
Surrounding the parade is the Butter &amp; Egg Days Festival from&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp; 10am–5pm, stretching across four downtown blocks. Visitors can enjoy incredible food, artisan vendors, beverage gardens, live entertainment, and two large kids’ areas, making it the perfect outing for families and friends.
Make it a weekend getaway. Stay and explore Petaluma’s award-winning restaurants, boutique shopping, tasting rooms, and beautiful riverfront.
The celebration continues the following weekend when Downtown Petaluma hosts the Annual Spring Antique Faire, drawing collectors and treasure hunters from across the region.

At our Sunday Assembly secular potluck you’ll hear great talks, sing songs, create community. The best parts of a church, without any religious dogma.
This month it’s our second full Celebration at our new venue! Come at the new early time 10:30 to hear a one-off lively music presentation by our hosts, then get right into our "Live better, help often, wonder more" style. 
The main speaker this time will be Maker Faire Founder Dale Dougherty. He’ll share how, in 2006, he put into practice "If you imagine it, you can make it" to make a huge event beloved in the Bay Area and beyond for the past two decades. Now there’s more than 200 licensed Maker Faires in more than 40 countries. SAEB President and Maker Faire Crew alumna Michelle Hlubinka will engage Dale in a conversation about some of the key players who made the event—and a whole movement—happen!
We applaud the freethinking approach of our hosts at their Hall of the Berkeley Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists, at our NEW ADDRESS- 1924 Cedar Street. Berkeley, CA 94709. Join us for an exciting evening of vocal jazz as we welcome in harmony, the acclaimed &amp; multi talented, Tiffany Austin! Tiffany Austin is a vocalist, composer, educator, and Berkeley Law Juris Doctor. She has performed with luminaries such as Pharoah Sanders, Roy Ayers, John Handy, Cyrus Chestnut, and Doug Carn. Her soulful delivery and musical storytelling has brought her to stages at Birdland and Dizzy's Den in NYC, Walt Disney Concert Hall in her native Los Angeles and the SFJAZZ Center in San Francisco. Beyond California, she has performed in Europe, Asia, and Australasia, as well as on nationally televised programming in the United States. “Nothing But Soul”, Austin's debut album from 2015, garnered attention from NPR’s “Fresh Air” program and Downbeat magazine for its bold recasting of Hoagy Carmichael standards. Her 2018 sophomore album, “Unbroken”, was hailed by All About Jazz as a "fully formed masterpiece", received a 4 star Downbeat review, and reached #16 on jazz radio charts. Austin is a guest educator at series sponsored by SFJAZZ, Stanford Jazz Workshop, and local school districts, and is currently Musical Director of the Healdsburg Jazz Festival Community Choir.
