Coroner Identifies Oakland Man Killed in Crash

The wreck happened on the connector ramp from 580 to northbound state Highway 13.

A man killed when he crashed his minivan into a tree on an Oakland highway early Saturday morning was identified today as 25-year-old Jose Murillo, according to the Alameda County coroner’s bureau.

Murillo, an Oakland resident, was found in a Honda Odyssey that crashed into a tree along the connector ramp from westbound Interstate Highway 580 to northbound state Highway 13 at about 2:10 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.

There was impact damage directly to Murillo’s door and he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the CHP.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
