Man Hit With Rock In Oakland

OAKLAND, CA -- A man was hit in his head with a rock in Oakland's Fruitvale district Friday morning, police said. Officers responded to the 3200 block of International Boulevard shortly before 9 a.m. to investigate reports of a possible shooting and found a man who had been hit in the head with a rock, according to police.

Oakland Fire Department personnel and paramedics provided first aid to the man at the scene and he then was transported to a hospital to be treated for his injuries, police said.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing and police aren't releasing additional information at this time.
