Man Shot In Popular Bar and Restaurant Area Downtown

OAKLAND, CA — A man was reported to be in critical condition after he was shot in downtown Oakland early Saturday morning, police said.

The shooting occurred in the 400 block of 13th Street shortly after midnight, according to police.

That block is between Franklin Street and Broadway and there are several bars, restaurants and cafes in the area.

The victim was taken to a hospital after the shooting.

Oakland police haven't provided an update on the victim's condition or any suspect information in the shooting.
