Update: PG&E Working to Restore Electricity in Oakland
The power went out at 2:47 p.m. Some customers will be in the dark until almost 10 p.m.
Update:
Bad news for the remaining 41 customers--PG&E estimates that your power will not be restored until 9:50 p.m.
Update: The number of customers affected by the outage has been reduced to just 41.

OAKLAND, CA - PG&E is reporting 1094 customers are without power in the Fruitvale area at this hour.

The outage was reported 2:47 p.m. PG&E estimates that power will be restored by 5:15 p.m.
The area affected is roughly from MacArthur Boulevard across I-580 to Davis Street, and from Maple Avenue to beyond Coolidge Avenue.
There's no word on the cause of the outage.
There are several smaller outages in the Oakland area, as well.
