19th Street BART Station Reopens

Trains are once again stopping at the station.

OAKLAND, CA - A suspicious package found near the entrance to the 19th Street BART station in Oakland this morning was determined to not be a bomb, according to BART police.

BART announced on Twitter at about 11 a.m. that trains were not stopping at the station. BART spokesman Jim Alison said a suspicious package was found near the 20th Street entrance to the station and BART police brought in a dog to determine if the package was dangerous.

The bomb-sniffing dog determined the package was not a bomb as of about 11:30 a.m., BART police said.
