The Hog's Apothecary Raising Funds for "Finishing Touches"

The Temescal gastropub is asking for donations to help clear some final hurdles before its opening next month.

The Hog's Apothecary, the American-style beer hall and gastropub that's set to open next month at 375 - 40th St., Oakland, is asking the public to donate money to help the owners clear the "final hurdles."

Contributions are being accepted at www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-hog-s-apothecary in amounts from $10 to $2,500. Donors will be considered "founding members" of the pub and receive gifts that range from "a hearty hug or handshake" at the $10 level up to a free beer or appetizer each time you visit for major contributors.

Owners Bradford Earle and John Streit hope to raise $20,000 by June 11. They say the money will be used for finishing touches on the pub, including scoreboards for dart and shuffleboards, made-to-order tables and chairs, signs and stainless steel tap systems.

Contributions stood at a little over $5,200 by Thursday, May 30.
