
OAKLAND, CA — Police have released the name of a man fatally shot on New Years Day in Oakland, as well as the name of the suspect.
The shooting occurred Monday around 5:20 p.m., in the 3400 block of Adeline Street, police said.
There, officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified as 36-year-old Tearence Garnett of Oakland, according to police.
Edward Barlow, 53, of Oakland was located and arrested and, according to police, the Alameda County District Attorney's Office has charged him with murder.
