Update: Possible Meth Lab Found in Jack London Square
Streets have been blocked off while first responders get the situation under control.

Update:
A man was discovered unconscious with a possible methamphetamine lab in a hotel room in Oakland’s Jack London Square this morning, police and fire officials said.
The injured man was discovered when firefighters arrived to investigate reports of suspicious smoke in a room at the Jack London Inn at 444 Embarcadero West at 11:37 a.m., police and fire officials said.

He was taken to a hospital in stable condition, according to police. Evidence in the room suggested he was operating a meth lab there. A hazmat crew was called into the area and portions of the 4-story, 110-room hotel were evacuated as they cleaned up the mess. Streets in the area were shut down as well, police said.
The scene took place shortly after a ceremony was planned nearby to commemorate 140th birthday of the hotel and surrounding area’s namesake, writer Jack London.

OAKLAND - An Oakland fire hazardous materials crew was dispatched today to a Jack London Square hotel where a possible methamphetamine lab was discovered, police and fire officials said.
Suspicious smoke at the Jack London Inn at 444 Embarcadero West was reported at 11:37 a.m., according to the fire department. Firefighters responded and discovered a possible meth lab there, police said.
A hazmat crew was called to the area and surrounding streets have been shut down for the investigation. One person was taken to a hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately disclosed.
