Woman Critically Injured in Oakland Crash

Police believe that she was driving under the influence.

OAKLAND, CA — A woman may have been driving drunk when she was critically injured in a crash in the Fremont neighborhood of Oakland on Monday night, police said.

Officers found the crashed green Honda Civic when they responded to the intersection of 48th Avenue and Foothill Boulevard at 11:41 p.m.

The driver, a 23-year-old woman who was the only occupant of the car, hit several parked cars while driving west on Foothill. She was taken to a hospital in critical condition.

Police said it appears the woman may have been drinking prior to the crash. Her name has not been released.
