SONOMA COUNTY, CA —Gunfire inside a neighborhood market sent customers and workers scrambling Sunday night.
Santa Rosa police say two men entered Ortega’s Market on Guerneville Road around 8:39 p.m., pulled handguns, and demanded cash.
Police said one of the men fired a round inside the store, possibly unintentionally. No one was struck.
The men fled north through the parking lot and left the scene on bicycles with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
Investigators described both suspects as two men about 25-30 years old dressed in black including black face masks and blue gloves.
Anyone with information, surveillance footage, or knowledge tied to the robbery should contact the Santa Rosa Police Department. The Sonoma County Alliance Community Engagement and Safety Rewards Fund is offering up to $2,500 for information leading to arrests in the case, police said.
