With the additions, passengers will be able to fly nonstop from Sonoma County to a dozen destinations, a move meant to expand the airport’s role as a regional alternative to larger Bay Area airports.

Airport officials promoted the convenience of flying from Santa Rosa, pointing to easier parking, shorter security lines, and reduced travel stress compared with longer drives to major metropolitan airports.

Tickets for the new Alaska Airlines routes are available now through the airport’s website.
