SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A tense overnight confrontation drew police after a caller reported that a man armed with a handgun threatened another man during an argument, setting off an investigation that ended with the discovery of a loaded weapon and suspected cocaine hidden in a backyard.
The incident unfolded around 2 a.m. Monday in the 500 block of Greenwood Drive, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department.
Responding officers met with the victim and learned the dispute allegedly involved Roosevelt Aaron, 46, of Santa Rosa. Investigators allege Aaron pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the victim during the confrontation. Officers found Aaron nearby and detained him.
During a search of his home and nearby property, investigators said they uncovered a loaded .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun concealed in the backyard.
Authorities also reported finding suspected cocaine in the same area.
Police arrested Aaron on suspicion of assault with a firearm, possession of narcotics while armed, and possession of narcotics for sale.
Authorities booked him into the Sonoma County Jail with bail set at $50,000.
