SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Several small fires are creating a lot of smoke in and around northern Sonoma County, adding to concerns amid above-normal temperatures reported by teh National Weather Service through midweek.
A vegetation fire was reported at 9:34 a.m. today in Cloverdale.
Fire crews also conducted two controlled burns this morning.
One on Dutcher Creek Road in Cloverdale . An earlier one, this time in Graton, was reported at 8:25 a.m.
In Geyserville, crews reported a controlled burn on Geysers Road beginning at 8:05 a.m. .
And firefighters were on site in Windsor and Occidental.
The vegetation fire on Geysers Road in Cloverdale appears to be the only active non-controlled burn as of 10 a.m.
Winds have let up and temperatures are running 10 degrees cooler than Monday morning in lower elevations.
Highs today will be in the 80s across the interior and 60s to 70s along the coast, according to the National Weather Service, possibly in the low 90s across interior hot spots — North Bay valleys, East Bay hills, southern Santa Clara Valley.
