SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A wildfire burning just east of Santa Rosa has spread to an estimated 13 acres Monday, prompting evacuation orders as firefighters worked to contain flames spreading through steep terrain.
The Ledson Fire is burning light grasses, oak woodland, and brush near the intersection of Sonoma Highway and North Pythian Road. It is an unincorporated area on Sonoma County just east of Santa Rosa.
CAL FIRE said air and ground crews were making progress despite challenging terrain as the fire continued moving east.
The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office issued an evacuation order for Zone SON-3H3 and deputies were conducting evacuations.
Residents can check their evacuation status through Genasys Protect or the Sonoma County emergency evacuation map.
No information on injuries, damaged structures, or the cause of the fire was immediately available.
