SANTA ROSA, CA — Two firearms were seized by police in Santa Rosa over the weekend during separate traffic stops.
The first stop that allegedly turned up a firearm occurred Saturday at about 8:30 p.m. when a Santa Rosa police officer pulled over a vehicle at Fulton Road and San Pedro Drive for allegedly having expired registration.
After an open container of alcohol was allegedly seen by officers, police searched the vehicle and allegedly found a duffel bag that contained a .223 caliber short-barreled rifle without a serial number.
A 23-year-old Santa Rosa man, a 21-year-old Sacramento man, and a juvenile were arrested on multiple firearm-related allegations.
Police allegedly found a concealed handgun in another traffic stop early Sunday morning.
A driver was pulled over at about 1:15 a.m. at 10th Street and Mendocino Avenue for allegedly speeding and swerving on the road.
The driver was found to be on probation and a search of the vehicle and passengers was conducted. A passenger, who was also on probation, was allegedly found with a handgun in his pocket.
The 22-year-old Santa Rosa man was arrested on multiple firearm-related allegations and booked into Sonoma County Jail.
