1. Mom Arrives To Pick Up Dog For Son During DUI, Gets Arrested (patch.com) — Rohnert Park-Cotati residents may be startled by a recent DUI incident where a man was arrested downtown on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, then his mother was also arrested after coming to pick up his dog and car. Police say she denied drinking but later tested at more than twice the legal blood alcohol limit, and both were booked into Sonoma County jail.
2. Sex offender accused of escalating foot massages in Rohnert Park (kron4.com) — Rohnert Park police have arrested a high‑risk registered sex offender accused of approaching younger males for "foot massages" on Redwood Drive near Golf Course Drive and then escalating to unwanted sexual contact. Detectives believe there may be additional local victims and are urging anyone with similar encounters to contact the Rohnert Park DPS Investigations Unit at 707-584-2600.
3. Businesses on the move in Marin and Sonoma counties: Sept. 25 report (pressdemocrat.com) — Several businesses have recently leased office and industrial space in Rohnert Park, including multiple suites on State Farm Drive and Commerce Boulevard. These new and extended leases signal ongoing commercial activity in town, from small offices to light industrial spaces, and may bring additional services, jobs, and foot traffic to local business corridors shared with neighboring Sonoma County cities.
4. Sonoma County supervisor candidate says her campaign was target of violent online threat (pressdemocrat.com) — A Sonoma County supervisor candidate has reported a violent online threat tied to racist, harassing messages, prompting investigations by police in Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Cotati and the Sheriff's Office. As the 2nd District race heads toward November, both candidates are publicly condemning intimidation and hate speech, raising concerns about safety and civility in local politics across the county.
