Police found the injured man, who was given first aid by police until paramedics arrived.

An ambulance transported the man to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to authorities.

Witnesses told Rohnert Park police that the bicyclist traveled west on Rohnert Park Expressway and ignored the flashing signals and gates.

The closure blocked eastbound and westbound traffic between Country Club Drive and State Farm Drive.

Public safety and Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit personnel are still investigating what led to the incident.
