17-Year-Old Shot in Rosemont, Expected to Survive
The Sacramento County Sheriff's Department says a teen was shot Sunday evening.
Updated, 9:45 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday: A 17-year-old was shot Sunday evening in Rosemont and is expected to survive, a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department spokesman said.
Dep. Jason Ramos said the department received a call around 10:30 p.m. that several people were out on Smoky Court wearing dark clothing, and "a shot rang out."
Ramos said officers arrived to find a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his hip area. The man was transported to UC Davis Medical Center, and Ramos later said the injury was "a through-and-through gunshot wound to his hip" and was non-life-threatening.

Ramos said the only information currently available on the suspects was that two people wearing hoodies were seen running from the area after the shot was heard.
Smoky Court, near Caldera Way, was quiet Monday afternoon. A few residents said they didn't hear the shooting.
