79-Year-Old Mugged, Witness Gives Chase

A 79-year-old woman was jumped and robbed Sunday afternoon in Rosemont, authorities say.

The woman was walking on Trujillo Way just before 4:30 p.m. when the attack happened, Sacramento County Sheriff's Department spokesman Dep. Jason Ramos said.

"A witness did chase the suspect, but was unable to catch him," Ramos said in an email.

The woman was knocked down but was not seriously injured, he said.

"The suspect was described as a black male juvenile with a gray hoodie and black pants, riding a dark-colored mountain bike," Ramos said.
