Isador Cohen Really Tallies Up The Medals At M.E.S.A. Math Competition

  The Mathematical Engineering Science Achievement, M.E.S.A, Math Competition 2012 was a great experience!

   The Isador Cohen students went to the California State University Campus, on January 20, 2012 for the annual competition.

   When all the kids entered the ball room, the place where they took the test, they were all nervous and quite scared, too.  

   After they took the test, they got to look around the enormous C.S.U.S campus and were able to experience some cool things.  They had a remote control toy robot and, you have to control it to make it go around some cones.  There was a go-kart that the Hornet Racing Team, the Sac State’s Racing Team, built.

    After lunch, third grader, Ronel Dumag gave a [brief] presentation before presenting an award to the Hornet Racing Team. “I was quite nervous, but I felt great and it was fun.” Said Ronel Dumag. 

   During the award ceremony, our school received a lot of 1st place trophies and medals, as you can see.

   Also, some former Cohen students received prizes: Thomas Le (Sutter); Jason Kim (West Campus); Margarita Kovalchuk (West Campus); and Connor Lowrie all won for their schools.  Connor won a laptop for 1st place in the writing competition!   

   Thank you C.S.U.S for hosting the M.E.S.A Math Competition and Thank you to all of the students that participated this year. Until next year, Cohen Cougars are sharpening their pencils, studying really hard and preparing for the next one. Great job Team Cohen!
