Calling all poets grades 7 through 12! Do you have an original poem that you would like share? Read your poem and compete for one of the cash prizes: $50 First Place $35 Second Place $25 Third Place. There will be two divisions of entries: 7th – 8th grade and 9th – 12th grade. Entries will be judged based on: • Originality • Content • Presentation Entry Guidelines: • Teens must be in grades 7-12. • Entry must be original work of participant. • Poem must be no longer than one page. • All entries must be submitted in 12-point Arial font. • Your name school and grade level must appear on the top of the page. We also invite enthusiastic audience members to cheer on the poets. This event is sponsored by Friends of the Elk Grove Library.
