In Creative Company is a series of watercolor classes geared toward older adults (55 +) with teaching artist Susan Recely. She received her Master’s degree in painting from CSUS and has taught numerous adult classes including at Hart Senior Center. Susan is an award-winning painter specializing in teaching oil acrylic and watercolor painting to adults. The class will incorporate color-theory art history painting demonstrations and students creating their own artwork. Classes meet Thursdays at 10 am beginning April 9. Additional class meetings are April 16 23 & 30; May 7 21 & 28; June 4. Class size is limited and participants must be able to attend each class session. Art supplies will be provided. The watercolor classes will be followed by a special reception and student art show on Sunday August 2 at 1 pm in the Library Galleria at the Central Library. Community Home Energy Retrofit Project (CHERP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching homeowners about a wide range of energy-efficient upgrades that qualify for utility rebates from PG&E and SMUD to help them reduce the overall cost of energy-efficient improvements. Local Citrus Heights resident Jack Frost will explain in detail how a CHERP retrofit reduced his monthly utility costs by over 87% how he received over $8 600 in combined rebates from SMUD & PG&E and $6 000 from a 30% federal tax credit for solar and increased his home value.

In Creative Company is a series of watercolor classes geared toward older adults (55 +) with teaching artist Susan Recely. She received her Master’s degree in painting from CSUS and has taught numerous adult classes including at Hart Senior Center. Susan is an award-winning painter specializing in teaching oil acrylic and watercolor painting to adults. The class will incorporate color-theory art history painting demonstrations and students creating their own artwork. Classes meet Thursdays at 10 am beginning April 9. Additional class meetings are April 16 23 & 30; May 7 21 & 28; June 4. Class size is limited and participants must be able to attend each class session. Art supplies will be provided. The watercolor classes will be followed by a special reception and student art show on Sunday August 2 at 1 pm in the Library Galleria at the Central Library.
