Does Rosemont Save Mart Need a Remodel?
How do you like our neighborhood supermarket, Save Mart? What can be done to improve it?
Since is our neighborhood supermarket, it would be a good place to work on improving. I think it needs a remodel.
Though the floors are clean, they are dented, old and mismatched. Comments I've read and heard are that the variety of products is limited. One person says he doesn't shop here and goes to Raley's, and that it is a whole better experience. I agree that Raley's is a nicer store and I had been hoping they would've taken over from Albertsons. But I do appreciate Save Mart's fresh fish/meat counter.
I spoke on the phone with the district manager of our Save Mart store, Dave Melendez, about the possibility of a store remodel. He said he is aware of the need for a remodel and would like to see it done.

Save Mart is planning on remodeling some stores and closing some stores starting in 2012. He stated the Rosemont location is a good store and doesn't believe it is in danger of closing.
I pointed out that if the store was remodeled, it would have greater patronage, especially from the county and state employees off Kiefer and Bradshaw, and that there also was going to be a new employee base .

He says we may call him if we have any other concerns and I stated I'd call him back in a couple of months for an update on the remodel situation.
I'd like to pass on his phone and email. If folks would email or phone him–maybe once a month–it would be a good way for him to know that the community is really behind the remodel. We can give him suggestions and positive comments as well as immediate concerns regarding the store.
Also we could post on the blog and forward it to him.

What has your experience been at SaveMart? What would you like to see improved? (I had reported a fly situation in the store. He stated he heard complaints about that and found out the garbage container had been placed too close to the delivery door; it has now been moved.)
