Race For a Mission Finishes the Race
Race for a Mission crosses the finish line in Maryland.
After 6 days, 17 hours and 26 minutes, the Race For a Mission Team completed the Race Across America! The team set out the 3,000 mile race on June 18 from Oceanside. On Saturday morning, the riders crossed the finish line in Annapolis, Md.
The four riders along with their crew set out with a couple goals. The main goal and motivation behind the race was to bring awareness and funds for hunger, clean water and education. The race goal, however, was simply to finish under seven days.
Both goals were achieved. The team is still accepting donations on their website www.raceforamission.com, but have raised about $80,000 already. Team members are expected to return home to Sacramento on Monday where they plan to rest their legs, sleep and eat a lot.
