Recap: Folsom's Run with Nature 5K

Taking on the Folsom Run with Nature 5K on May 14.

It was a little chilly and windy when we started but once running, it felt really good. The course started at the Folsom Library and went downhill, across the foot bridge, to close to Negro Bar and then back uphill.

Surprisingly, for me the hills weren't too bad. I walked some and then jogged the rest. I tried to make up some time going back by running the flat parts and then walking/jogging the steeper hills.

I ended with a time of 42:07. My first mile was 12 minutes, the second mile was 13 minutes and the final mile (all uphill) was 16 minutes. The race itself seemed really short compared to the 1/2 marathon two weeks ago and the 10k the week before that.

The booths at the race were amazing! They had the best freebies we've seen so far. Bags, free samples of food, nutrition bars, fruit snacks, water and vitamin water. And we (Robin and I) met up with a couple of school families there. It was a good morning!
