Capital Christian Student-Athletes Hold Signing Rally

Three Cougar soccer players sign letters of intent during school rally.

Three boys soccer players signed their names on the dotted lines Friday morning during a rally in the Rosemont school's gymnasium as they made plans to continue their careers in college.

"Today means the reward of a lot of hard work," said Murray, who . "San Diego has strong academics, a great location and athletic department and it's an hour plane ride for my parents."

Armbrust said he's "stoked" to be joining Alvarez, the son of Capital Christian principal and soccer coach Ab Alvarez, at Azusa Pacific.

"I wouldn't be where I am if I hadn't gone here," Armbrust said.

Micah Alvarez said its the next step in a playing career that has seen the trio play together in club soccer as well as at CCHS.

"It feels good to be able to sign in front of family and friends," he said.

Athletic director Suzanne Baker, who also coaches the , said the boys' success means a lot to the Capital Christian community.

"It's pretty exciting," Baker said. "I'm proud of these guys."
