CRPD to Restart Foundation Board

The Cordova Recreation and Park District Board of Directors will meet Wednesday.

The Cordova Recreation and Park District is scheduled this week to restart its charitable foundation, which has been dormant since 2005.

According to an agenda for Wednesday's meeting of the district's board of directors, five people are set to be appointed as directors of the Friends of Cordova Parks, Inc.

They are former members Conrade Mayer and Andee Press Dawson, and new applicants Jessica Deitchman, Kevin Deitchman and Tim Keenan. They all live in the district's boundaries, according to the agenda.

The purpose of the Friends of Cordova Parks, Inc., is to perform outreach for district activities and facilities, park improvements, athletics, good sportsmanship, safety and more.

The positions are unpaid and would last one year.

The district's board of directors will also consider moving more than $31,000 earmarked for improvements in two Rosemont parks back into the general fund. The renovations in Rosemont Community and Rosemont North Parks has been completed, the agenda says. District staff has not responded to an email asking for more information on this item at the time of this posting.

The board of directors will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at 2197 Chase Dr., Rancho Cordova.
