Sacramento's Moon Rockets (Adult)

Come hear author Alan Lawrie share about his latest book, Sacramento's Moon Rockets. The success of the first lunar landing in 1969 is due in large part to the years of rocket testing that took place at Douglas Aircraft Company's Sacramento testing facility. Alan, a satellite propulsion engineer, has been an active and passionate space historian for the past 10 years and regularly lectures on space history to audiences ranging from the general public to space professionals. Discover the story of how workers here in Sacramento helped get the Apollo astronauts to the moon!

This pruning class will focus on how to prune young shade trees for structure and form. Quick, simple steps you take now to help your young shade trees grow healthy, strong and beautiful will save you time and money in the future. It includes an indoor classroom portion and also a hands-on pruning practice. Then there also will be a short walkabout outside to look at pruning examples on real trees. Presented by Sacramento Tree Foundation. Registration is required.
