First Day of Swim Championship Wraps up at Rosemont HS
The Metro League Championships are being held Friday and Saturday at Rosemont High School.
A seven-school swim competition at Friday wrapped up its first day with a few Wolverines poised to place well in the finals Saturday.
"We did well," Rosemont High School Swim Coach J.D. Nairn said. "I've seen improvement in a lot of individual swimmers' efforts."
The top finishers will advance to the finals Saturday, while others will compete in consolation finals. Because of a computer glitch, official results won't be available until Friday evening, but Nairn said seniors Tim Hyunh and Nick Zanfarino tied for second place in the varsity 50-meter free swim, and Lynnette Rheault will have the No. 1 seed for the 500-meter free.

Saturday's events will also include the relay, Nairn said.
He said while the first day was hectic and stressful, the event couldn't have happened without parents and community volunteers.
