Anyone who has experienced one of Jim’s family concerts knows that rather than performing for the children and parents, Jim leads them to sing and play together.
His active music play provides a context for children to develop abilities, such as self-regulation, essential to school success. Jim’s clever word play and rhymes and active movement games also provide broad opportunities for literacy development.
Among Jim’s many credentials: •Six award-winning CDs
•Author of two children’s books, including “A Soup Opera,” which received an American Library Association award in 2010
•Completed his graduate studies in child development at the Erikson Institute of Chicago with a special emphasis on the study of play
