Man Allegedly Caught Breaking into Rosemont Business
Three recent arrests in the Rosemont area.
A silent alarm put a quick stop to an alleged burglary attempt in Rosemont over the weekend.
Charles Homer Perez, 44, was arrested at 2:30 a.m. on New Year's Eve after authorities found him hiding in the bushes outside a painting business on Harlin Drive, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department crime log. The business' silent alarm had been tripped when a window was forced open, the crime log states.
Perez was found with "tools which are consistently used for burglary purposes," the crime log states.

Sheriff's department spokesman Dep. Jason Ramos said nothing was taken from the business, and the opened window was the only damage.
Perez is currently being held on a felony and a misdemeanor charge, and his bail is set at $35,000. He's due in court Wednesday afternoon.

Passenger allegedly found with revolver
A 20-year-old man was riding in a car that was stopped by deputies last week, and was found with a loaded handgun, according to the crime log.
Reginald Chavis was a passenger when the car he was in was stopped near Bradshaw Road and Lincoln Village Drive Friday night, according to the sheriff's department crime log.
Deputies smelled marijuana coming from the car and searched it; they found a .22 revolver under Chavis' seat, the crime log states.
He was arrested on weapons charges, but was released the next day on a $10,000 bond, Ramos said. He's due in court on Monday.
Man allegedly brings stolen rifle to confront cousin's boyfriend
A 19-year-old man was arrested on Dec. 28 after he drove with a stolen rifle to his cousin's home to confront her boyfriend, according to the crime log.
Carl Vaughn was stopped on Old Placerville Road, and the rifle was sitting on the passenger seat of his car, the crime log states. He also doesn't have a driver's license, according to the crime log.
He was arrested on weapons charges but was released Monday on a $10,000 bond, Ramos said.
