A man was shot early Saturday morning just north of Rosemont, but is expected to survive, authorities say.
The victim, a man in his 20s, was shot in the lower stomach in front of a La Quinta Drive apartment complex, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department Dep. Jason Ramos said.
The department received multiple 911 calls around 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Ramos said.

Franco Rios, who lives about two blocks from the apartment complex, said he heard four shots and women screaming. He said he then went outside and saw women running toward the victim, who was walking away from the scene.
"[The victim] stopped in front of our house, and that was where the police caught up with him," Rios said. "He was trying to walk away, but I think his adrenaline ran out and his injuries caught up with him."

After deputies arrived, they set up a perimeter to try to locate the suspect, but were unable to find him.
Ramos said the department was working to take more detailed statements from witnesses, who he said saw the suspect run from the scene.
“There may be witnesses who know who he is,” Ramos said in a phone interview.
The suspect is described only as a black male in his 20s, Ramos said.
