This month, it’s Inside Out (2015 PG, 102 min, Disney Pixar): Young Riley was perfectly content with her life when her father landed a new job in San Francisco and the family moved across the country. Now, as Riley prepares to navigate a new city and attend a new school, her emotional headquarters becomes a hot bed of activity. Prom Giveaway (Teen)

Come get your dress! Community donations of dresses, accessories and other formal wear will be given away FREE to youth ages 13 – 19(please bring your school ID). How to participate: 1. Tell your friends and classmates to donate their lightly used formal wear, and invite them to a giveaway event. 2. Do not wear makeup that may get on the dresses. 3. Attend a giveaway event wearing under-clothing that makes it easy to change in and out of dresses (e.g. yoga shorts, sports bras, leotards) as there will be limited changing space/privacy. Want to help out at Sylvan Oaks Library? Let us show you the ropes! Teens between the ages 13-17 are required to undergo training before volunteering at the library. Trainings are held on the first Saturday of every month of the school year (except November and December). Those attending the training will get 2 logged volunteer hours. We request volunteers schedule their shifts with their coordinator in advance, not to exceed 2 hours a day, Tuesday-Saturday. Bring a friend and join us for a classic movie, fresh donuts and coffee or tea. There will be a drawing at the end of the program and a lucky winner gets to take home a new DVD of the movie. This month’s film is : “Little Nellie Kelly” (96 min, 1940, Warner Bros.). Judy Garland performs her only on-screen death scene early in the proceedings. But despair not! Garland soon reappears as the daughter of the character she was playing in the film’s first reels. Based on the play by George M. Cohan, “Little Nellie Kelly” affords Judy Garland ample opportunity to sing a swing version of “Singin’ in the Rain,” as well as several newer songs.
