'Martian' Still Go-To Movie for Audiences in 'Very Slow' Halloween Weekend

Movie goers can't seem to get enough of 'The Martian.' It was the top movie for four of the last five weekends, including this weekend.

Hollywood slumbered through a β€œvery slow” Halloween weekend, with an otherworldly survival epic remaining the most-favorite picture in North America.

β€œThe Martian” was on top for four of the last five weekends, and remained there Sunday, with a paltry $11.4 million in sales, said movie analyst Paul Dergarabedian at Rentrak.

β€œThis has clearly been the β€˜go-to’ movie during the fall season,” he said. It’s five-week cumulative North American total was estimated at $182.8 million.
