'Martian' Still Go-To Movie for Audiences in 'Very Slow' Halloween Weekend
Movie goers can't seem to get enough of 'The Martian.' It was the top movie for four of the last five weekends, including this weekend.

Hollywood slumbered through a βvery slowβ Halloween weekend, with an otherworldly survival epic remaining the most-favorite picture in North America.
βThe Martianβ was on top for four of the last five weekends, and remained there Sunday, with a paltry $11.4 million in sales, said movie analyst Paul Dergarabedian at Rentrak.
βThis has clearly been the βgo-toβ movie during the fall season,β he said. Itβs five-week cumulative North American total was estimated at $182.8 million.

The R. L. Stine book-turned movie βGoosebumpsβ was in second place again this weekend, this time with $10.2 million in sales.
βBridge Of Spies,β a reality-based Steven Spielberg movie starring Tom Hanks, was third, with $8 million in receipts.

Rounding out the 10 most-popular movies this weekend in the United States and Canada, as estimated by the studios and collated by Rentrak, were βHotel Transylvania 2β³ ($5.8 million), βBurntβ ($5 million), βThe Last Witch Hunterβ ($4.8 million), βParanormal Activity: The Ghost Dimensionβ ($3.5 million), βOur Brand Is Crisisβ ($3.4 million), βCrimson Peakβ ($3.1 million) and βSteve Jobsβ ($2.6 million).
