Join us for In Creative Company a series of drawing classes geared toward older adults (55+). Artist Lynn Morrison will teach color-theory properties of graphite pencils color blending and drawing techniques during these hands-on sessions. Free art supplies will be provided. Classes meet eight Tuesdays May 5 through June 23 from 10 to noon. Class size is limited and participants must commit to attending the entire series. Teaching artist Lynn Morrison is a graduate of California College of Arts & Crafts with a BFA Degree in Environmental Design. She has been an interior designer and college instructor. Her artwork graces the walls of homes and businesses both locally and nationally. Participants and their families and friends will be invited to a culminating art show and reception on August 2 at 1 pm in the Library Galleria at the Central Library. Creative Aging in America’s Libraries is supported by a National Leadership Grant from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services in collaboration with Lifetime Arts Inc. AARP Foundation American Library Association and Westchester Library System.

Magical Moonshine Theater’s presents “Puppilocks and the Three Bears”! What if the Three Bears were really Teddy Bears? What if Goldilocks was not a little girl at all but a golden mischievous little dog? That is the case in this funny retelling of the traditional fairytale. This program is funded by the Arden-Dimick Friends of the Library.

Come to the library for a free yoga lesson and experience its grounding calming effects while increasing your strength flexibility and balance. All skill levels beginner to advanced are welcome. Please wear loose clothing and bring a yoga mat. Instructor Joan Howell has been teaching yoga for 20 years.

Teens from several local high schools will talk about their experiences as a student and the changes between middle school and high school. The panel will also take questions from the audience. If you (or you child) is in 7th or 8th grade and want a variety of perspectives on high school and high school success come to the library to hear from students across a spectrum of experiences.
