Want to help out at Sylvan Oaks Library? Let us show you the ropes! Teens between the ages 13-17 are required to undergo training before volunteering at the library. Trainings are held on the first Saturday of every month of the school year (except November and December). Those attending the training will get 2 logged volunteer hours. We request volunteers schedule their shifts with their coordinator in advance, not to exceed 2 hours a day Tuesday-Saturday. Home Energy Retrofits with CHERP (Adult)

Community Home Energy Retrofit Project (CHERP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching homeowners about a wide range of energy-efficient upgrades that qualify for utility rebates from PG&E and SMUD to help them reduce the overall cost of energy-efficient improvements. Local Citrus Heights resident Jack Frost will explain in detail how a CHERP retrofit reduced his monthly utility costs by over 87%, how he received over $8 600 in combined rebates from SMUD & PG&E and $6 000 from a 30% federal tax credit for solar and increased his home value.
