A driver hit a pedestrian Friday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A pedestrian was hit by a car on Kiefer Boulevard Friday but was not injured, California Highway Patrol spokesman Officer Jim Young said.
Young said the victim, a 50-year-old male, had no complaints of injuries, but was taken to the hospital by the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District as a precaution.
"Someone who's hit by a car usually is transported [to the hospital]," Young said by phone.
