Poll: What Should Happen Behind Rosemont Plaza?

The quality of the fence that separates Rosemont Plaza with the homeowners behind the center depends on where you're looking.

In some places, the wood fence looks new and fairly sturdy, while in others it has gaps or looks to be near the end of its lifespan.

But that doesn't matter to Sacramento County's Code Enforcement Department, which says the barrier isn't up to snuff anyway. when a business center like this butts up against homes.

The Bay Area-based property owners have appealed the violation, and will appear before the county on Feb. 28.

Homeowners like Cyndi Marshall say a thicker wall would keep her home quieter and safer, while the property owners say the requirement is unreasonable. They've also asked the county to force the homeowners behind the center to help pay for the masonry wall.
